Peter Michael von der Nahmer, born in Munich, Germany, received his bachelor’s degree in classical composition and film music from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, Germany. Von der Nahmer started composing at the age of 13 and today his works are played internationally in countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, and Great Britain. Von der Nahmer has studied and worked with Arthur Hamilton (Cry Me a River), Thomas Newman (American Beauty), and Jeff Rona (Chicago Hope).

Von der Nahmer’s works encompass multiple genres, such as opera, musical theatre, motion pictures, commercials, ballet, chamber music, and orchestral music. He has been honoured with various scholarships (14 th O’Neill Puppetry Conference, Conn.) and awards and has worked as a composer in residence with the Emrick Production Group. His work The Monk and the Fish has recently been selected for inclusion in the ERM Masterworks of the New Era series.
