Sylvie studied harmony and counterpoint at Sorbonne under M. Louis, M.Guillard and Mme Carmel and composition under F.Donatoni and G.Magnanesi and L.Berio at the Chigiana Academy in Sienna. She attended masterclasses at the Royal College of Music with Andrew Manze, Lewis Kaplan and Philipp Sheppard. She has worked with J.F.Matignon at the Theatre du chene noir, with S. Brunschweig at the Ateliers Studio d'Ivry and with L.Vaillancourt, director of the Nouvel Ensemble Modern de Montreal.

Sylvie has a particular interest in musical theatre and in the relationship between music and text. Her executive lecture 'Contemporary ideas of Composition' at the Paris Interacts 2000/2001 seminar was well received, and was organised by Mme Pistone of the Observatoire msuical of the Sorbonne with F.Rousseaux, A.Bonardi, and F.Drouillon.
