Sylvie Gral - I Once Was
Violin and Voice |
'One of the fundamental characteristics of this work lies in the implosion of the traditional metric approach. Let us move on to the graphical form. These are amassed writings and interlocking sounds, the propositions are numbered and separated. The forms are split and broken apart. They arrange themselves around a central point. All the instruments start together according to an order established during the rehearsal. Events sometimes slipp in between these sequences. These events are by nature plastic, textual or sound.'
